December, 2011 November, 2011 *November 30, 2011 The rest of November was ultra quiet, no photos, no email, no new 814th or any other Squadron added to the list of past members
signing into the site.
Back up and on line after a full week without power. The late October Snow Storm (Saturday 10/29) we experienced in New England knocked out
electric power in the state of Connecticut to over 800,000 homes, this being one of them. Our power came back about 8 PM last night (11/6).
I'm going through the backlog of e-mail to see if I have missed anything new. Ron Betts and Jim McCurdy have been added to the located Squadron members page: Ronald (Ron) Betts, signed into the site guest book leaving a very informative message regarding his time spent at the 814th.
I will have his data up on the Located Squadron Veterans page soon, look for it in a day or two.
James F. McCurdy Sent in his information using the sign in page from the hot link at the top of the Located Squadron Veterans Page.
His data will be entered within a day or so, Jim: we need a photo for your bio page.
The site has added a new item on the table of contents page: "Get Togethers and Reunions" The intent is to 1. ) upload photos
and discription of meetings and get together's when past members link up and 2. ) Advertise a Reunion or meeting that's being planned.
Your help on this is gratefully appreciated.
Received a very nice note and photo from Ted Ellis. Ted was first assigned to the 4050th APS in April 1955 then
assigned to the 814th until Oct. 1959. The photo shows Ted, Forbes Sutherland (814th CDS - Feb 1956 to Sep 1957) and Jack
Donahue (4050th APS - 814th CDS - Feb 1956 to May 1963), all meeting at the Modesto Hotel in March of 2001. If any other
past members have a reunion please consider sending in a photo(s) and a write up so it can be posted here on the site. The
photo mailed in by Ted will be posted soon perhaps on a new photo page strickly reserved for reunions. Let me know your
thoughts on this, Alan.
Check out the new photos on "photos from the past page 3." the last two rows of photos Provided by David St. Clair. David's
profile page has been updated.
David St. Clair sent in a wealth of information back in June of this year. My health kept me from completing the scanning and
upload of many photos, that however has now been completed. Two photos of David have been added to his bio page and the remainder
will be added to the photos from the past pages relatively soon.
August proved to be a very slow month, both in activity and available time to work on the site, I hope to do better this month and
get caught up on too many things to mention. David (St.Clair) I know I'm late in getting your documents posted and getting them back
to you please give me slightly more time. Additionally, Tom (eagle-eye) Fitch's recommended correction has been made. Based upon the requests and recommendations of several members, an informational link regarding the Cold War Certificate program
will soon be added to the Table Of Contents. I have been ill, I will try to catch up as soon as I can. Alan For those who could be interested regarding obtaining a Cold War Certificate of Recognition please see Anthony (Tony) Frisco's Biography page for his email address. May was a quiet month. We were absent of any new people that aren't already listed on the Located Squadron Veterans Page of the 4050th, the 184th or the 99th Squadrons.
